Frequently asked questions
Colour analysis (also called seasonal colour analysis or personal color analysis) is a system that categorises your natural colouring into a “season” — such as Spring, Summer, Autumn, or Winter. Each season has a palette of colours that harmonise with your skin tone, eye colour, and hair colour, helping you look more vibrant, healthy, and put-together.

✅ Yes, you should absolutely choose a professionally trained and qualified colour analyst.
Colour analysis is both an art and a science. While anyone can claim to offer colour analysis, a trained professional will have the skills, tools, and experience to:
Accurately assess your skin tone, undertones, eye and hair colour
Use correct lighting and draping techniques (virtually or in person)
Understand colour theory and the nuances of seasonal systems (4, 12, or even 16 seasons)
Provide tailored advice on wardrobe, makeup, and hair colour based on your season
Unqualified or self-taught individuals may rely too heavily on guesswork or generic self taught, which can lead to incorrect results, leaving you confused or misinformed about your best colours.
A properly trained colour analyst typically has:
Certification from a recognised colour analysis school or system and is accountable to its system
A structured method for analysis (not just intuition) that has sets out colour dimensions & characteristics for each palette. They are trained to know these specifications.
Experience and client results to support their work
💬 Pro tip: Don’t be afraid to ask your analyst where they trained and what method they use. A professional will be happy to share their background and approach.
